The Felix Project: Help The Homeless At This Difficult Time

We have sent a large donation of both instant and ground coffee to The Felix Project to help support vulnerable people at this difficult time. Homelessness, mental health and addiction are some of the causes that the project helps to fight in London, providing free food to charity partners that are able to feed children and adults in need.

Lavazza Joins KLM’s Corporate Biofuel Programme

Lavazza has become the first Italian partner of KLM Royal Dutch Airlines’ Corporate Biofuel Programme. The scheme is aimed at stimulating usage of sustainable aviation fuel (SAF) which can reduce carbon emissions by up to 85% compared to fossil fuels. Lavazza is committed to enhancing sustainability throughout the supply chain.Aviation is responsible for 2% of global carbon emissions, with this percentage forecast to triple by 2050. Sustainability Series: Coffee Farmers

There are 25 million coffee farmers in the world, spread across 30 countries. Whilst some countries such as Brazil and Vietnam farm coffee on an industrial scale, other crops come from communities producing small batches from inaccessible locations (for example some of the Central and South American growing countries). The ¡Tierra! Project is one of a number of initiatives Lavazza conducts or participate in to help small farmers. The project started in 2002 and is managed through The Lavazza Foundation, making it the most personal of sustainability initiatives for the Lavazza family.
